A consortium of 15 partners coordinated by ACTeon, will work on ResponSEAble. The strengths of our Consortium are the combination of expertise and skills, the capacity to cover all components of the ocean knowledge system, from the production of knowledge to its final use experience in a wide range of communication and literacy products and initiatives.

Our team coverage of the main regional seas relevant to the EU (the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic façade) Its transatlantic dimension an excellent access to the main regional, European and international Networks on Marine knowledge.

The Baltic Environmental Forum (BEF) is a network of five independent, non-profit organizations working in an interdisciplinary team of 40 persons on a variety of environmental issues. Since 12 years we are active in the field of marine and maritime policy including stakeholder involvement and visualization of the marine environment for the society. In ResponSEAble the BEF DE team is leading WP3; the Baltic offices will contribute with stakeholder assessments, collect data on the marine knowledge system, develop and test project information materials and bring in the Baltic Sea perception and culture. The BEF Group will be in charge of the Baltic Sea Region implementation of the project.

Heidrun Fammler

Heidrun Fammler

From Germany, with 22 years of experience in contributing to (marine) projects in the Baltic Sea region has great experience as moderator of international events on environmental policy and is a well-accepted partner of the regional sea’s fora such as HELCOM, EU SBSR and VASAB. In ResponSEAble she is acting as WP3 (knowledge system and perception) lead and coordinator for the Baltic Sea region activities

Tamer Fawzy

Tamer Fawzy

From Germany, MSc Biology, History of Science and Visual Communication, is working since four years on stakeholder integration, good governance and acceptance of environmental policy measures within the society. He is co-leading WP3 and in charge of is conceptual approach, the main outputs of the WP as well as its interlink to the other WPs: WP1 - knowledge base and WP2 - economic value chain.

Merle Kuris

Merle Kuris

From Estonia, BSc in biology, has 12 years’ experience in marine nature conservation policy implementation, development of management plans for marine Natura 2000 sites, involving stakeholders in the process of marine spatial planning, producing information materials for different target groups and organising public dialogue events. In ResponSEAble she will be in charge of producing and testing information materials and contribution to stakeholder and media surveys.

Laura Remmelgas

Laura Remmelgas

From Estonia, MA in Social Science, has 8 years’ experience in climate adaptation and marine environmental policy implementation in Estonia and has good contacts to a wide network of stakeholders involved in marine and maritime activities. In ResponSEAble she will contribute to analysis of the major economic value chains in the Baltic Sea region and build up the project-related stakeholders’ network.

Kristine Senele

Kristine Senele

She is PR expert at BEF Latvia and a journalist by education with more than 15 years’ experience in print media and public relation field. Ms. Senele is a campaigner at BEF for society’s awareness raising and consumption pattern changes. She will contribute to the concept and knowledge system analysis in WP3 in ResponSEAble with her experience on how media functions and be involved in producing information materials.

Zymantas Morkvenas

Zymantas Morkvenas

From Lithuania, BSc in biology (zoology) and MSc in public administration has been involved in the BEF’s marine projects since their start; he was the leader of the communication and visibility actions of the LIFE Baltic MPA project 2005 – 2009 and leading author of the Book and video encyclopaedia “See the Sea” (http://www.visitbalticsea.net/). In ResponSEAble his role will be the testing the project information materials in Lithuania.

Rita Norvaisaite

Rita Norvaisaite

From Lithuania is an expert in PR and (Environmental) Communications with four years of experience in creating innovative visibility materials and campaigns addressing the society with nature values as well as in its consumer behavior aiming at behavioral changes o consumption patterns. In ResponSEAble Ms. Norvaisaite will contribute to the analysis of perception and assumptions of stakeholders and assess the potentials for engaging with the society with regard to the ResponSEAble key stories.

Joanna Piwowarcyk

Joanna Piwowarcyk

From Poland is an external expert at the BEF and holds an MSc in Management with the research topics human geography and marine governance. She is investigating stakeholders’ involvement, conflicts and cooperation potentials in Polish Marine environment and will contribute to ResponSEAble with her stakeholder contacts as well as analyse the economic value chains of the project.
