A consortium of 15 partners coordinated by ACTeon, will work on ResponSEAble. The strengths of our Consortium are the combination of expertise and skills, the capacity to cover all components of the ocean knowledge system, from the production of knowledge to its final use experience in a wide range of communication and literacy products and initiatives.

Our team coverage of the main regional seas relevant to the EU (the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic façade) Its transatlantic dimension an excellent access to the main regional, European and international Networks on Marine knowledge.

ACTeon is French-based small sized (20 persons) research and consultancy company active in the environmental field, providing support to policy development and implementation. It is specialised in the “soft” components of environmental management and policy, i.e. social and economic impacts, the value of ecosystem’s goods and services, the role of economic instruments in environmental policy, governance & institutions, mediation & communication, prospective and policy evaluation. ACTeon is providing support to policy development and implementation in the fields of water, agriculture and the environment, climate change, renewable energy, nature protection, forest, marine resources, etc. The geographic focus of activities includes France, Europe (other European countries & EU level policy initiatives), the Mediterranean region and the Caucasus.

Olga Mashkina

Olga Mashkina

Olga is the coordinator of the ResponSEAble project. She has PhD in environmental economics and is a senior environmental economist in ACTeon with over 15 years of experience in environmental economics and policy (in particular marine and forest ecosystems). Having spent ten years in USA and then in Finland, Olga has expertise with socio-economic methods and use of economic instruments in environmental policy as well as policy evaluation. She has also particular interest in the area of institutional economics, multi-level governance and changing actors’ behaviour as well as creation and dissemination of environmental knowledge and science-policy interface

Pierre Strosser

Pierre Strosser

Head of ACTeon, Pierre Strosser has worked for more than 20 years in the field of environmental policy. His expertise includes environmental economics, policy evaluation, institutions and governance , facilitation of multistakeholder processes... applied to a diversity of environmental domains including marine ecosystems. Pierre is regularly involved in European projects dealing with water and marine policies (WFD, MSFD, ICM/MSP), water scarcity & drought, economic instruments, employment and macro-economic impacts or governance. Pierre holds a Ph.D. in economics applied to water resources (Wageningen, the Netherlands), complemented by agriculture and environmental engineering degrees (Agro Paris and ENGREF, France). In ResponSEAble, Pierre contributes to the assessment of ocean-related value chains and consumer behavior (WP2) as well as to the overall communication and steering of the project (WP7).

Gloria Depaoli

Gloria Depaoli

Gloria is an environmental economist. She supports the coordination of WP2 activities, as well as its interlinks with WP1 and WP2. She also contributes to gathering knowledge on the ocean-human relationship (WP1), to the assessment of value chains of economic activities related to pressures on the ocean (WP2) and to the identification of the potential for actors’ behavioural change (WP3), with a particular focus on coastal development brought by tourism.

Nicolas Weiller

Nicolas Weiller

Nicolas is specialized in graphics designing and shaping of various types of communication products. On ResponSEAble project, he is developping communication media as the visuals identities, communication materials (leaflet, rollup etc...), reports and website.
